Places to Visit

Tree Top WalkThe Park has long been one of the area's most popular tourist destinations. The Tree Top Walk, is a walkway that rises up to 38m above the forest. All ages can view the canopy of the magnificent tingle forest. Visitors get a different perspective on the shapes, sounds and movement of the forest. LINK

Old Kent River Wines have been awarded numerous awards and trophies for their wines. The cellar sales offer free tastings of the currently released wines. Wines produced include: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Reserve Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Diamontina (Sparkling White Wine). The Arts

The Bridge Art Gallery - Images from nature's beauty painted and drawn on site by local artist Nathalie Haymann. Imaginative and unique pottery by Sally Addison. Life-size wood sculptures by renowned international sculptor, Robert Fairclough of Kent River. Situated near the Valley of the Giants on the Bow River.

Four-Wheel-Driving in Walpole-Nornalup National Park there are many opportunities in this region to go off-road. Tracks around Peaceful Bay - leads to Bellanger Beach, Blue Holes (popular with fishermen). Tracks to the coastline, Rame Head, the Gap and Point Irwin. Drive along the beach to the mouth of the Irwin Inlet. A compressor is located at Peaceful Bay Caravan Park. Click Here for 4WD Map

Fishing from a boat, off the coast, from the coastal beaches and rocks, or in the inlet and rivers yields many species; including Black Bream, tarwhine, whiting, flounder, flathead, salmon trout, herring and King George Whiting. Beach and rock fishing can be dangerous. King waves are common. Two good fishing spots with 2WD access are Peaceful Bay and Mandalay Beach.

Whale Watching commonly seen are the Southern Right and Humpback whale. These massive mammals can be seen off our coastline generally between the months of June and September. One of the best places to spot whales is from the viewing platform constructed at Conspicuous Cliff

Tree Top Canoe Hire; hire canoes or you can bring your own. One of the best ways to see the Frankland River, Deep River and the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet is by canoe. The Frankland is one of the most beautiful; the banks are lined with huge karri and tingle trees. A popular canoeing adventure is from Fernhook Falls to the mouth on the Deep River.

Surf spots; Conspicuous Beach, accessible by 2WD, east of Walpole, Mandalay Beach and Peaceful Bay are also surf locations for the more adventurous and in possession of a 4WD vehicle or boat there are great surf spots at the mouth of the Nornalup Inlet and at Long Point.

Bushwalking is one of the most pleasurable activities. Cool rivers flow among the giant trees, windswept heathlands, through ancient forest amongst magnificent flora and fauna. Sight birds, kangaroos and whales

The Bibbulmun Track is world-class; 963 km long-distance walktrail stretches from Kalamunda, a suburb of Perth, to Albany, on the south coast. Walk the trail from Peaceful Bay along coastal ridges and white beaches to Conspicuous Cliff pass the Nut Hill lookout and wind through the Valley Of The Giants forest to the Tree Top walk. www.bibbulmuntrack.org.au
