Walpole-Nornalup National Park, 20,000 hectares of diverse
vegetation landforms, pristine forests and wilderness. Park landmark
attractions are unique of its natural environment. Forests of, Karri,
Tingle, Eucalypt, Jarrah and Marri. Sight Western Grey Kangaroo, Quokka,
Honey Possum, Yellow Footed Mouse, Bush Rat, Bandicoots and a variety
of birds, Fly Batchs, Honeyeaters and Parrots.
Valley Of The
Giants Tree Top Walk, most popular with visitors
features a walkway that rises up to 38m above the forest, a different
perspective on the shapes, sounds and movement of the forest. Below,

Circular Pool is a section
of the Frankland River a must visit for the falls in winter and the
large, tranquil pool in summer.
Conspicuous Cliff along Ficifolia Road
to Peaceful Bay has car access to fabulous coastal heath land featuring
swamp paperbark and, in summer, the ficifolia, and a red flowering gum
endemic to the region. In winter and spring witness the antics of whales
and enjoy the wildflowers, birds and wild life all year round.
Nornalup, nestled on the
Frankland River, a pioneered settlement. The surrounding forest creates
an aura of peace and tranquillity whilst the Frankland River, with its
unparalleled reflections, is a favourite fishing haunt for boating and
fishing. For 4WD enthusiasts there is a track across country to the
beautiful Bellanger Beach.
Peaceful Bay is a picturesque
coastal holiday destination, once a large coastal grazing lease used
by landowners. The only signs of habitation for many years were a few
fishermen's shacks; now on leasehold and freehold are more than 250
holiday homes. Rame Head, Nut Road Lookout
and The Gap are 4WD drive coastal destinations for fishing,
whale and seal watching.
Mount Frankland, walk
trail around the base or climb to its peak for a breathtaking view of
the surrounding landscape. A shelter, toilet, water and barbecue facilities
are also available to campers.
