The Old Kent River vineyards are located at Rocky Gully, which is the coolest area in the Frankland River wine region. Since the temperature in this area is similar to that of Burgundy, it is not surprising that the Old Kent River Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are such outstanding wines. The gravely soils in Rocky Gully are also ideal for growing vines because they discourage excessive foliage.
Old Kent River is owned by Mark and Debbie Noack, who are responsible for viticulture. Yields of all varieties are deliberately kept at a low level in a constant aim to yield fruit that has the intensity and quality to produce great wines that benefit from ageing. The excellent show record

of their wines and orders from an increasing number of overseas countries bear testament to the success of Mark and Debbie's efforts.
